Between-Season Wardrobe Suggestions

Summer’s over (unofficially) but it’s still too warm most places to wear your Fall pieces. Here’s a quick guide for what to wear right now during these warm September days.

Creme-Colored Pants

Keep these Transitional Pieces: structured chinos or cotton jeans (pair them with a tank top or T-shirt and a denim jacket or cotton sweater)

Pack Away these Summer Pieces: flowy beach-style pants

Shoes

Keep these Transitional Pieces: sandals in leather with more coverage over the foot (think multiple or thick straps)

Pack Away these Summer Pieces: raffia, straw or shell-embellished sandals

DRESSES

Keep these Transitional Pieces: lightweight cotton or linen dresses in darker tones such as brown, green, mustard, pumpkin or black

Pack Away these Summer Pieces: lightweight cotton or linen dresses in brighter colors and beach-y patterns

skirts (this last one applies to any garment really)

Keep these Transitional Pieces: heavy cotton in plaids or solids

Pack Away these Summer Pieces: lightweight cottons in light-colored floral prints with ruffles and eyelet

I hope this helps you get through the next few weeks. As always, click any image to link to the product. Before we know it, it will be sweater-weather! And blazer and boot weather! And scarf weather! Can you tell Fall is my favorite fashion season? ☺️ 🍂

and a quick note about white jeans:

There is still always the question about wearing these after Labor Day. The answer is yes! Again, pair them with a darker toned top (as I suggest above for Dresses) and thicker strapped sandals to make them feel more Fall than Summer.
