Dining Out...side

Eating out with friends and family is one of our few ‘safe’ activities these days. Whether you’re around the fire pit on someone’s patio or near the heat lamp at your favorite restaurant, here are 3 ideas for dressing well and warmly all at the same time. #1: Choose a Great-Looking Coat

This seems obvious, but take a look at your coat wardrobe and see if it could use a little boost. A coat or jacket with a lot of personality is useful these days.

#2: Wear a Poncho (with a jacket or vest underneath)

I love to teach people to ‘layer under.’ Often, we think we need to pile more and more layers on top of our outfits. But start with a poncho you want to show off and then wear a lightweight puffer jacket or vest underneath (plus performance pieces to keep you extra warm).

#3: Forego a Coat Altogether

If you layer enough warmth under a top and pants, you may not need a coat at all. Think performance tights, stockings, long-sleeve base shirts plus wool and cashmere sweaters. Pro tip: tights under pants make a world of difference when you’re sitting outside for a few hours!
