Fall Trends to Try

The trends that are capturing my attention this season are wearable classics—with a twist. Loafers and Mary Jane flats—interesting denim jackets—and brown plaid suiting that can be worn together or styled as separates (click here for inspo!). Refresh your Fall wardrobe with a few of these pieces, at any price point. Many are offered in Petite, Tall and Plus sizes as well. For just about everything from work to weekend, Elevated Casual is the dress code now which ensures you will get great cost-per-wear on these items.

Black Penny Loafers

I always put dimes in my black loafers and pennies in my oxblood pair—anyone else? Black loafers are having a moment, but can be worn forever. Wear the classic, low-heeled version with no-show socks or scrunchy white 80s socks like this. Wear the heels with wide leg pants or dresses-n-tights (way cooler than a traditional black pump with your day dresses!). Click here for Fall’s other shoe trend: Mary Jane flats.

denim jackets

These are not the typical Levi’s trucker style but rather adorned, quilted, ladylike, cropped or oversized. These lightweight jackets are the perfect updated layering pieces to transition through seasons. Again, you can splurge or save and come away with great style.

The brown plaid suit

The colors and fabrics of these pieces just scream “Autumn!” and can be worn in so many ways for years to come. Combine the pants with a simple sweater and loafer for a classic look or a hoodie + sneaker for an elevated take on athleisure. Wear the pieces together with a black T-shirt and flat shoes or mix the masculine tailored silhouette with a feminine silk charmeuse camisole underneath. Again, any price point will get you the look you want. And I love the size-inclusiveness that is becoming de rigueur (from Petites to Tall to Plus).
